Being virtually part of the young adult ministry at Sycamore UMC in Illinois has been one of the most sweet highlight of my week. Being able to meet an entirely new church group and small town community has been the most exciting part in my life. This group chats with each other and get to study the bible together.
Entering the meeting room virtually on Teams today, I was surprised to see only Becca and my friend Jackson being in the room. Todd and the others were not able to make it, however but we still had a great meeting today. As a group, we are studying the book of Acts and just socializing while they make their own dinner at church and eat it in the room that we meet together. Since I’m two hours behind their 6PM, I don’t have to worry about getting dinner until we end. I always sign in 15-20 minutes later so I can give them time to cook and bring the food into the conference room. It’s super fun when this group has a friend/member not local to them, being all the way in Southern California!
Lastly, I would like to bless Becca Rome, Tod Puttkamer, and the group at Sycamore UMC Illinois that is going on a mission trip next week to spread the awesomeness of their church. Let’s pray that they will have safe travels to Benton Harbor, Michigan when the mission trip group departs this Sunday. Good job Sycamore UMC, you managed to attract the attention of a Southern California young adult who wanted to virtually be involved with the YA group here!
