My Murrieta Adventure

I actually had a great time today in Murrieta. It was really fun to finally get to meet my new friends and hang out in the area. My mom made me this deal: If I successfully submitted the paperwork and obtained my driving permit at the Montebello DMV, she promised to take me down to Murrieta for a trip as a reward. I passed and got my permit on Wednesday. So today, my mom and I left around 9:15AM and got to church around 10:27AM. Man, that city is very different from the SGV I can assure you that!

CenterPoint Church is a very unique place of worship because it is geared toward the younger generation and the worship and sermon style is more contemporary. They are more energetic, emotional, and fun. This church has an outdoor seating area for people who want to attend service outdoors and the inside of the building is like a movie theater and sports stadium. There are 3 screens like the ones you see in a movie theater and the seats are arranged in various types of surfaces so that there are seats on stable ground and seats built up level by level, like the ones you see in a theater with steps and stairs going up. I sat on the stable ground area.

When I arrived today, I was terrified of going into the building. No, I’m not kidding here! Speakers were positioned outside so that music was playing from it. It was super loud. The noise inside the service area was even louder and there were like about 200-300 people in there. I didn’t know anyone literally. That’s why this church has services in 3 time options: 9AM, 11AM, and 5PM. So, I texted my friends telling them I was scared and could anyone come out to get me so that I can go in? One of my friends came out to get me and we went in. I sat with my friend Isaiah and his wife Cristina. I really enjoyed the service experience.

Afterwards, I went up to say hi to lead pastor, John Hansen and met a lot of people. Most of them knew who I was and gave me a hug. Everyone couldn’t believe that I actually came in person to the church. I went outside and was given a Starbucks gift card as a thank you gift for coming to the church. I rode in the car of one of my friends and we went to Chilis for lunch. It was actually a 45 minute wait for a table to be available. I got a side salad without cheese, a crispy chicken sandwich with barbeque sauce, and a strawberry lemonade. They were all delicious!

After taking various photos, I went to the Murrieta Walmart where my mom was waiting for me to drive home. Overall, I really enjoyed the experience today and hope to be able to visit the area again soon. I’m really excited for the beach day outing that was mentioned to me before I left today.
